Reviewing Applications For Parents And Grandparent Supervisas
For loved ones living abroad, visits can be challenging. Canada recognized the need to help parents and grandparents overcome the limitations of regular visitor visas and introduced the Parent and Grandparent Supervisa permit program.
At Michael Golden Law Corporation, we assist Canadian citizens as well as international individuals applying for this permit to connect with their families. Providing services throughout Burnaby and Vancouver, B.C., our legal team will review your application and advise you on how to get it into it’s best shape for an optimal outcome.
The Supervisa Program
A regular visitor’s visa allows visitors a stay of up to 6 months per visit and can be challenging to obtain. The supervisa allows parents and grandparents to visit Canada on a temporary resident permit.
This permit is valid for 10 years and allows parents and grandparents to visit multiple times for a duration of up to 2 years per visit.
Meeting The Supervisa Requirements
One of the common reasons for a rejection or denial of a supervisa is that they were filled out incorrectly or were missing information. The requirements for a supervisa include:
- Parents and grandparents passing a medical exam
- The child or grandchild meeting minimum income requirements
We speak Vietnamese and in our office. We can help you overcome language barriers so you understand what is expected of you as you apply for the supervisa. We also provide translation services in other languages using external translator if required.
