Pokemon Go causes accident in Quebec City

With the newest trends sometimes comes danger, like in the case of Pokemon Go. This app has been lauded as a fantastic way to get otherwise-indoors-loving people out and about. People are meeting others, interacting, and spending more time outside while looking for the digital pocket monsters.

The problem comes when people aren't thinking about the impact their gaming could have on others. For instance, if you're driving a car, you should never be on your phone while you are playing a game. A recent accident is a prime example of why you need to pay attention to the road at all times. Those who don't can't put others in danger.

Two people in a car were reportedly playing Pokemon Go in their vehicle hit police officers in Quebec City. The driver and passenger playing the game hit the officers when the vehicle suddenly reversed in the parking lot of a local library. The officers had already been prepared to pull over the driver for failing to use a turn signal when they were struck.

When the two people in the vehicle were asked directly why they collided with the officers, they admitted that they were playing the game on their smartphones and hadn't noticed the police behind them. The driver received two tickets for the run-in -- one for failing to look before reversing and the other for failing to signal. The officers had to be treated for minor injuries following the crash.

If you're hit by someone playing a game on their phone, texting or being otherwise distracted, you may have a case. Your lawyer can help you file a claim against the person responsible.
