Crash kills 2 teenagers in British Columbia

According to law enforcement authorities with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, two 18-year-old men died in an accident in northern British Columbia. The accident reportedly occurred on April 3 on Highway 97.

Authorities indicated that a small car collided with a pickup truck at Bear Creek Bridge. The bridge is around 200 kilometres north of Prince George. The two 18-year-old men who died were apparently occupants of the car.

The pickup truck's occupants were all transported to the hospital with serious injuries. It is unclear what caused the collision or which driver was at fault. RCMP officials stated that they are continuing to investigate the accident's cause and have an accident reconstruction expert in order to help them determine it. The accident forced the closure of the highway in both directions while police conducted their cleanup and investigation. It was reopened later in the afternoon on April 3.

When a person is involved in a serious car accident, they unfortunately may either be seriously injured or die as a result of it. In the event that the person's death resulted from another driver's negligence, the person's family may want to consider filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver. Through a lawsuit, a family may be able to recover damages designed to compensate them for the losses they have suffered due to their loved one's death. The families of those killed in car accidents may thus want to seek a consultation with a personal injury lawyer. After a careful review of the facts, a lawyer may help their clients by drafting and filing a legally sound complaint. The lawyer may then try to negotiate a settlement on their client's behalf, or if necessary, to litigate the case for their clients through depositions and trials.
